About Iranian Ground Report
A source-transparent news and documentation platform built to make reporting originating inside Iran easier for international audiences to discover.
Iranian Ground Report gathers current reporting, video, photography, official statements, civilian documentation and primary sources from Iranian journalists, Iranian media and Iranian communities, and presents them with the provenance intact. The aim is narrow and practical: a reader anywhere in the world should be able to establish what Iranian sources are reporting, who published it, where, and whether independent evidence corroborates it.
We do not claim ownership of the reporting linked here. Original journalists, photographers, publishers and organizations remain credited on every item, and every item carries a route back to the source that published it. Where material cannot lawfully be republished, we hold metadata, a short permissible excerpt and a thumbnail where permitted, and send readers to the original.
Iranian Ground Report is not advocacy for the Iranian government, the United States, Israel or any other party. It is a source-transparent platform. Iranian, U.S. and Israeli government and military claims remain attributed to their sources. Unverified material is labelled unverified. Independent evidence is added whenever available. For major developments, our “Compare the Accounts” feature places the Iranian account, the U.S. account, the Israeli account and independent evidence side by side, then states what can be established and what remains unknown.
Translation
Much of the material we index is published in Persian (Farsi). Translations on this platform may be produced automatically, and where they are, the item says so, names the original language and links to the original text. Persian source content is never overwritten. Quotations are never machine-translated and presented as if an official human translation exists, and low-confidence passages are held for editorial review rather than published.
Verification
Every item displays a source type and a verification status, and neither is applied automatically. An editor records what a corroborating source actually confirms, rather than inferring corroboration from the fact that another outlet has discussed the same general event. Unverified material is labelled unverified and stays visible as such.
Corrections
Corrections are public. When a published item is materially wrong, the change, its date and the reason are recorded on our corrections page, and the original error is not quietly rewritten.
Editorial use of AI
Automated tools assist editors with translation, summarization, tagging, duplicate detection and identifying candidate corroboration. They do not verify casualty figures, identify people from imagery, alter quotations, resolve disputed material or publish anything. A human editor approves every item that appears on this site. AI is never used to generate fake war photography.
